This week I had the honor of  being the guest speaker at a Tampa Circle of Red (COR) event. Hosted by (COR) Chairman Renee Vaughn at the Center Club. The Circle of Red is a group of local women dedicated to supporting the American Heart Association and its GO RED for Women initiative. GO RED for Women efforts are focused on educating women on the impact of heart disease and how to change those deadly statistics into positive ones of healthy living and survival.

The standing room only event drew one of the biggest crowds ever for a 7:30 AM event. Kudos to all who got up extra early! My program topic was on building brands and leveraging them (whether a personal or business brand) for greater results when they are tied to a worthy cause like the American Heart Association. I also was able to share news of my latest venture, home frosting (a luxury home staging and art/furnishing rental company) and introduce my newest team member Crystal Bray. Learn more about Crystal in the About the Team section of this site.

Through GO RED for Women’s good work more than 627,000 women have been saved from heart disease, and 285 fewer women are dying each day. Women in the Circle of Red contribute significant resources and influence to fund lifesaving research, education and advocacy for heart health on a local and national level. I joined the Circle of Red this past year and love the dynamite group of women I’ve been able to meet. For more information on how you can get involved contact your local American Heart Association.
