Outdoor areas for relaxing and entertaining have become top priorities for our design and home staging clients. With all of us spending more time at home and needing to practice social distancing, there is no better time to style up your spaces with fresh furnishings, accessories, and tabletop accent pieces.

Our good friends Cyndi Edwards and Danny New with Daytime TV invited me to share some easy ideas for brightening up your balcony, terrace, and poolside table setting. These are ideal for staging your home to sell, or to get your home ready for guests and entertaining! Watch the full segment here.

3 important outdoor decor and furnishing tips:

  1. Keep recycled water from sprinkler systems away from your furniture. The chemicals can cause serious damage to any metal-based pieces.
  2. Extend the life of your outdoor cushions by bringing them in during bad weather and removing from direct sunlight. If the fabric is not UV treated, the color may change quickly.
  3. Be sure to secure all of your beautiful outdoor décor items with proper weights so they stay on your tabletop instead of in your neighbor’s yard!
